ABSTRACT:
Soil erosion is evident in many situations, and its environmental impact can be significant.
GEO-SH Coir erosion control blankets are designed to provide superior soil stabilization, reduce the amount of existing erosion, and allow plant root growth while reducing fire risks. They increase fire ignition safety, minimize soil erosion and sediment runoff, facilitate vegetation, and are suitable for slope stabilization, stream bank stabilization, and canal rehabilitation.
Coir erosion control blanket is an open weave, 100% biodegradable geotextile made from high-strength double fiber mat yarn. They have a longer lifespan than other organic geotextiles and can last up to 5 years.
This product’s unique fire retardant technology is in the nanometer liquid (company IP) infused into the fabric. The fabric soaked in nanometer green liquid is a moisture/water trap required to maintain the fire retardancy element.
The minimum required is 60% relative humidity in the substrate absorbed over 8 hours at a temperature of 24 Celsius, which will provide approximately 13g/sq.m
(Relative humidity calculation calculator attached later in this TDS)
GEO-SH + Plants used for erosion control are natural soil protectors. Plants slow down the speed of rain so that it penetrates the soil more gently. In addition, the plant roots will get the soil underground. The best choices for slopes are plants with large, fine roots that spread over large areas and provide stabilization. The plant’s root system and growth habits can determine which plants are best for erosion control for your project. Plant consultants know which plants will work best for your slope and which ones will work directly with irrigation.
Why GEO-SH?
Safety is essential in reducing risks when spreading a coir blanket over large areas. Massive and life-threatening fires are always risky because the coir mat of coconut fibers and/or dry leaves and twigs trapped on it can ignite.
A competitor blanket not protected against ignition poses a potential danger of such a fire due to dry weather, oil and fuel leaks emitted from vehicles, or ignition.
In such a case, the fire will spread rapidly, which can be fatal, endanger nearby populations and factories, and destroy agricultural fields and forests.
The GEO-SH blanket is protected against fire. Its uniqueness is the maximum safety through the innovative technology of a coir blanket impregnated with a unique 100% biodegradable nanotechnology green liquid called ECO-PLTFORM. This intellectual property provides anti-flame ignition and fire retardant barriers due to oil or fuel truck leaks.
GEO-SG is rolled in various roll and orifice sizes and is manufactured to meet a wide range of requirements.
